Very interesting article and it rings true in other industries such as insurance agencies. Many agencies are stuck in the past with CRMs like AMS360, I know this because I work for one. If you want API access to the system you’re paying for they want to charge you 15 to 20k per year effectively making any in-house automation unaffordable. The legacy agencies that have been handed down from generation to generation are ripe for disruption as they won’t or can’t employ AI easily. Many owners are also set in their old ways as well. I’m still using 2016 MS Excel in the office. Yet I use AI to vibe code python scripts to write complex spreadsheets now. I do what I can because I see the future.

Thank you for reading and for your input. We are innovating around this exact problem every day and we certainly understand your frustration. There are options out there that preserve privacy and can be deployed easily. We know because we built it! ;)

What other issues are you seeing in the insurance industry and beyond?

That’s great, and I’m thankful for companies like yours that care about our community banks and want to help bridge the gap as are small community banks are very important. Glad to hear there are other solution for insurance and I’m looking as well, I will be interested in checking yours out too. I do a lot of work in the crop insurance industry and it’s very old school. (Paper binders training material at meetings - I opt for PDF download but most want the Binders) No API access to data we input into carrier systems either. So if I want to data mine key components I’m stuck downloading PDF and trying to pull data I want of of very complicated forms and that tends be not very accurate but it’s getting better now. Another sticking point is customer collection of production data, as it come in by email or mail and is in multiple formats, all that data still has to be pulled by hand and calculated to input applications. I’m looking for solution for this as well, it’s just a bunch of data entry and could be automated but the way we receive the data has no standard. The crop insurance programs are another issued and the policy data and crop insurance handbooks are complicated to read and interpret. I can use google LM for these since these are public documents. Hope this helps.

This is very interesting indeed and thank you for the kind words. It sounds like you have some really interesting challenges with legacy systems and processes. This isn't a deal breaker, but can seem like it with some AI systems.
